Melissa Frogh and Loudon Fruth were named to the 2004 Western Region J4 Festival in Sun Valley, Idaho.. They were selected for this event based on their successes during the season. First they had to qualify to compete against athletes from Idaho and Wyoming by racing to the top of athletes here in Utah. Then they had to qualify amongst the entire Intermountain Division. Each of the five divisions within the Western Region were limited to a team of 3 girls and 3 boys. Loudon and Melissa were joined by Kelly Mackenzie from Grand Targhee, Jasmine Campbell from Hailey, Jared Goldberg from Snowbird, and Brendon Rubie from Snowbird, to represent the Intermountain Division. Both Melissa and Loudon were able to finish in the top 10. Melissa was 7th in the SL and Loudon was 7th in the GS, while both athletes were 9th in the Super-G event. Melissa and Loudon have proven to be successful athletes with a large support group: Coaches - Tyler Callantine, Troy Price, and Ray Miller, Parents, School Teachers, Snowbasin Resort, SSEF, and other local supporters.
